About the Foundation
The Gold Star Foundation was formally established in 2024, building on years of charitable giving and community involvement at Gold Star Mortgage Financial Group. The Foundation was created to support nonprofit organizations, strengthen community partnerships, and give back to the communities Gold Star serves.
Among the Foundation's ongoing commitments is its signature partnership with VETLIFE, a Michigan-based nonprofit organization that helps veterans connect with the resources, benefits, and support they have earned. Beyond VETLIFE, the Foundation has supported causes including Freedom River, Toys for Tots, Adopt-a-Family, Make-A-Wish Michigan, Humane Society of Huron Valley, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Washtenaw, and Susan G. Komen Foundation through charitable drives, fundraisers, and community events.
Gold Star's annual charity golf outing has been held in Ann Arbor, Michigan since 2014. Since 2023, VETLIFE has been selected as the event's beneficiary, and this year the outing takes on a new name: the Tree Town Classic. Through fundraising events, charitable partnerships, and community support, the Gold Star Foundation reflects Gold Star's commitment to service, connection, and giving back.
